Budgie’s Journal #122 – That Release Day Feeling
The only thing better than book release day is the day they release you from prison.
Today’s the big day. Dusk, Volume 2 is now available digitally on Amazon for your reading enjoyment. This release is a culmination of hard work; my writing and dragging of the stories, Daniel Civitella’s artwork, Harbingerr’s introduction writing, and Vanessa Reed-Deaton’s editing.
This collection is what I think of as my “second batch” of dark stories, written and collected over the course of more than a year. There’s a different feel than what’s in Volume 1, and my stories have definitely gotten longer. There’s less stories in Volume 2, but I filled up more pages.
It’s a great feeling, putting out something you can stand beside, knowing you put your heart and soul into it. It’s the reason I keep pushing myself to write when the world around me is falling apart.
Now that this is wrapped up, I’m looking into what’s next. I’m working on the paperback versions of my last three releases, and I’ll be checking the proofs soon. The biggest compliant I get about my books is that I’m only available digitally. Hopefully they look good when I get them. If they do, I’ll have another release day soon!
I’m also working on my other releases for this year: Ant-Head, I’m in Sci-Fi Hell (two books), and The Whore Ghosts of the Admiral Inn. I have drafts done and some have been beta read. I’ll be working on these, and I’ll post updates as I have them.
But it’s release day, so I’ll drop the Volume 2 link one more time. I hope you check it out and enjoy it!
