Budgie’s Journal #119 – Ant-Head Reaches its Series Finale
If you’re just tuning in tonight, I’ve finished another one of my projects for this year. It’s the first draft really, but it’s done. Ant-Head: A Love Story has reached it’s completion at just over 35k words, making it a novella, and my only one slated for this year.
This was a crazy book idea that popped in my head months ago. I wrote the prologue, about a boy name Joe Plume who would soon be called Ant-Head by his peers (and you’ll find out why if you read it). Joe grows up to be a fan fiction writer, specializing in sitcoms from the seventies, eighties, and nineties. He narrates his own tale, and he doesn’t know how to rein in the TV trivia sometimes.
I really enjoyed writing this book and living with Joe in my head for the last few months. I’m going to miss him, but I’ll see him again, come editing time. I’m hoping to have this ready to publish around March or April at the latest.
I’m moving right along. Now all I have left to write is the second part to I’m in Sci-Fi Hell, and then it will be all editing for the rest of the year!
Stay tuned, Budgie fans!
