Budgie’s Journal #99 – WIP Wednesday 11: The Return of WIP Wednesday
I’m here again, updating my blog. It’s been a rough few weeks, and I know these posts have been few and far between, but I’m hoping to get back into the habit of posting regularly, except for the long weekend I’ll be spending in Salem.
I’ve been in a rut lately, which is one of the reasons I haven’t been keeping up with my WordPress duties. I was able to get my latest book, Blood Drive, finished and published, but things were falling apart around me.
Here’s a link to Blood Drive, by the way: Blood Drive
But you’re here to find out what I’ve been working on. No, it’s not one of the three books I want to put out next year, although I did work on a few new chapters of Ant-Head. I’ve been second-drafting my next short story collection: Dusk Vol 2.
The only good thing about being as low as I am is that it improves my writing. It sucks to say it, but it’s true. I don’t strive for this state of mind to help my writing. It just happens.
So I’ve been reading and editing the twelve or so stories (I forget the exact amount), and I’ve rewritten quite a bit. I’ve hit someone up for an intro, and they’ve agreed. I won’t reveal who until I’m closer to completion.
I put this collection off. I meant to have it out in the fall like Vol 1 last year, but this looks like a winter release, either before 2017 is over or early into next year.
I’ve also been back on Freedom Lane, but I’ll save my big announcement for another post, maybe tonight.
So I’ll leave off here for now. Once Dusk is set I’ll get back to Ant-Head, I’m in Sci-fi Hell, or The Whore Ghosts of the Admiral Inn. I’m thinking they’ll be released in that order, Sci-Fi Hell bring a two-parter of course. But some decisions on these books have yet to be made.
So keep reading and keep writing. I know I will…
