Budgie’s Journal #88 – WIP Wednesday 10 -Those Damn Whore Ghosts

It’s Wednesday, and that means there’s an update here from my latest works in progress (WIP). If you’ve been following at home, I started three projects at once for 2018, and I’m kicking myself for doing it. But I’ve been working (aside from an unproductive patch for four or five days).

I’m closing in on 50k for part 1 of I’m in Sci-fi Hell, but I went back to The Whore Ghosts of the Admiral Inn over the last two days, hitting 10k with that one.

Whore Ghosts is the tale of a hotel that’s haunted by the spirits of multiple dead prostitutes who have been murdered in or around it. The task of my ensemble cast is to rid the hotel of the spirits of the ladies of the evening.

But it’s proving difficult, and I mean difficult for me.

I find myself going nutty as these whore ghosts exhibit unpredictable behavior and bad attitude. They’re giving my protagonists a hard time, and I’m fighting to keep up with them. I didn’t imagine exercising the spirit of a whore would be a walk in the park, but they’re fighting it harder than I thought they would. One of them screamed like a literal banshee and ran off, and another came in long before she was supposed to.

I’m going to have my hands full with this story and these dead whores.

I’m moving along with Ant-Head too. I’m closing in on a pivotal scene I’ve been dying to get to. I’m not sure about the length of this book, so it may end up being a novella. It’s fine since Sci-fi Hell turned into two plus sized novels.

To end my post I’ll say that Blood Drive is on schedule for its 10/10 release date, and I’m working on a second draft of Dusk Volume 2 as well.

Let’s all have a productive autumn!
